Results 2011
Once again we are delighted to report that the external examination results achieved by students at Laude The Lady Elizabeth School far exceed the percentages gained by students in British schools.
Laude The Lady Elizabeth School entered 84 school candidates for one or more (I)GCSE examinations in the summer of 2011. These 84 candidates made almost 500 individual subject entries in 27 different syllabuses resulting in 108 A* passes, 132 A’s and a massive 440 entries achieving a grade between A* and C. In considering the magnitude of these achievements by students of Laude The Lady Elizabeth School, it is important to compare them with the National UK averages: A*-A LLES = 48.3% UK = 23.2%, A*-C LLES = 88.5% UK = 69.8%. It is also important to consider the fact that a high percentage of LLES candidates sit their examinations in English, a language that is not their mother tongue. At GCE A2 level our 68 candidates made an overall subject entry of 144 in 19 different A level syllabuses.
An A* grade was first introduced at GCE A level last summer, this summer LLES candidates have again exceeded the UK average with 20 achieving an A* grade (LLES 13.9% compared with 8.2% UK National average), 27 achieving A grades (LLES 32.6% compared with 27% UK National average for A*-A grades) and 114 between A*-C (79.2%. UK average not available). LLES has always encouraged Language entries in areas not covered by the school curriculum. In recent years we have arranged for candidates to sit GCSE and GCE A Level language examinations in Dutch (First and second Language), Italian and Chinese. This year 2 candidates achieved A*’s in A level Russian and 3 candidates achieved A/A* in GCSE Russian.
